I'm sorry to hear that :(
Before pitching the motherboard maybe it'd be a good idea
to check out any installed memory and the machine's power
supply - I tend to suspect the motherboard also, but
don't really have enough information to go on.
Here's a great link describing PC boot process - you
might be able to use it to troubleshoot your machine -
but if the "Automatically restart" thing is unchecked
it's possible we're looking at a hardware problem.
