Steve, you have my eternal blessings! I didn't post the
original post, but I wound up here after HOURS of
searching...
I *had* my XP/98SE network up and running over my Netgear
Router and cable modem. Then I decided to encrypt my
wireless networking, only to decide to remove the
encryption right away. THAT was when all file sharing and
XP-98SE access went out the window. All computers still
had internet, but NO access across platforms. (Both 98SE
machines could access each other, however.)
I was going out of my mind trying to figure it out. Then
I read your lovely post. Enabled NetBios over TCP/IP,
and, as if from heaven, my network was back up.
