Not to uninstall them.... just remove them from the list.....

The "old" TweakUI offered that option. For some reason it was not included
in TweakUI for XP.
New XP feature: Double clicking a program's name in Add/Remove that is no
longer installed will sometimes bring up a prompt offering to remove the
item from the Add/Remove list.
When that screen doesn't appear (might get an uninstall error instead), you
can remove the programs name from the uninstall key in the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uni nstall

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall
Each of the sub keys in the above branch, represents an installed program.
Locate the correct sub key and right click it. Select Export. This creates
a backup file that can be re-imported if need be. Then right click the same
sub key and select Delete. Another option, is to locate the DisplayName
value in the right pane and right click it, select Rename and change it to
DisplayName2. This will also prevent it from showing up in Add/Remove.
Note: For sub keys with a Q or KB number (Qxxxxxx or KBxxxxxx) its better
to rename the DisplayName value. Windows Update checks for the presence of
some of these keys, and even if a particular "hotfix" has been installed, if
Windows Update doesn't see the key being there, it will prompt you to
install the hotfix again.
