Every time I try to run the networking wizard, it stops at
the last step (where the systemis setting up the network).
I am trying to network 1 Win ME Puter with a Win XP Puter,
they are both connected to a D-Link router then a cable
modem, both can access the internet & ping each other. The
Win XP Puter is the one that halts.

I don't know why the Wizard fails to run, but you can set up the
network on XP without it. Here's what the Wizard would do on XP if it
ran. Make the same settings manually:
1. Set the computer name, computer description, and workgroup name
that you specify.
2. Share any printers connected to the computer.
3. Create the "Shared Documents" folder if it doesn't exist.
4. Share the "Shared Documents" folder.
5. Configure the local area network connection to obtain an IP
address automatically.
