system shut down

When I shut down, my monitor does not shut down it acts
like i'am going into stand by i hear the hard drive shut
down but my optical mouse stays on as does my monitor.
any help would be great

Some systems support turn on by Mouse or Keyboard activity. If yours is one
of these, then you may need to change your settings in the BIOS in order to
turn the mouse off. Most monitors will only go into standby mode if the
computer is turned off. This is normal.
