I am working in a networked environment with 3 wireless
access points. I have several wireless pcmcia cards. In
our environment, when the XP laptops initially connect,
they work fine for a couple of minutes and then lose
connectivity, even though they show a very strong signal.
I have to re-force the connection but it drops again
shortly thereafter.

The same equipment works great if running on Win98 or
2000. No problems. I set the SSID and thats that.

I know this has something to do with the XP "Wireless Zero
Configuration", but I am at my wits end.

Anyone have any ideas?

You need to disable 802.1x authentication on your wireless connection.

( Unless of course you have a RADIUS server and an AP that supports it,
and all the necessary certificates etc in place. In which case, you need to
get with the admin of the RADIUS server to trace what's going on during
the authentication. )
