I am installing Windows XP onto a new hard drive in a tray.
The other tray has Windows ME and connects to the Internet
without a problem. When attempting to establish an Internet
connection with the XP drive, it connects OK after the
scrathy static noises, then the window reads "All Devices
Connected, ERROR 50: The Request is Not Supported". What is
going on? Thanks, Doug

I just ran into this problem with one of our customers. In our case
the modem's status in Phone and Modem options of Control Panel ended
up being "not functioning". The customer ran into the error 50 error
message roughly 15 times. After I rebuilt the DUN connection and
rebooted computer got error 791 which pointed me to the modem problem.
Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for your reply. Would you suggest that I
replace the modem? Thanks again, Doug
