I have a Gateway PC running XP. Connected is an HP printer via an USB
cable. I have that printer shared out. I connect to the XP box with a
Win2k Thinkpad via a crossover cable. When I try to print from the
laptop the printer dialoge box takes a good 45 seconds to come up. I
will sometimes get a "not responding" tag in the task manager. I have
done the following :
- Registry fixes for task searching on both macines
- Set up proper user accounts
- Installed Net Buei on both machines
I am running ICS on the XP machine and the performance there seems to
be fine. When I try to browse the network it seems to take time before
the full directory listing is displayed.
None of this has made a difference, it wasn't like this when I first
hooked things up. What has changed and what do I need to do to remedy
it.
Thanks
