My assumption is that you are getting the flash light icon
that never goes away when you go to an FTP site. You may
need to set IE to use passave mode when trying to FTP.
The setting in the Advance Tab is "Use Passive FTP(for
firewall and DSL modem campatibility). This setting is
right above the HTTP 1.1 settings category. If you can
not find it open Regedit and go to
HKEY_CURRENTY_USER\Software\Microsoft\Ftp and look for
the "Use PASV" key. The is a String key and you can set
this to "yes" and see what happens. If it isn't there
you should add it.
