I use XP and have four different users. Why when I use a
higher resolution for my desktop it changes all of the
users to the same resolution. Everyone has their own
desktop picture and icons. Is this a bug in xp??

No bug - Windows NT OS's (WinNT, 2k, XP) have been designed this way from
the start. Go to google and search for screen resolutions, there are
several freeware/shareware programs that allow each user to save their own
resolution to be restored when they login.

This is by design. You have two alternatives.

1) See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Keep User Display Settings for a
small application that will automatically adjust the resolution to your
preferred settings, at logon. Note, it does not support Fast User Switching
at this time.

2) See my web site, above, in the Win XP Utilities section for QuickRes for
Windows XP. This small utility puts an icon in the system tray and gives
you quick right click access to change the screen resolution.
