Same problem on both home machines w/ winXPpro with
separate connections, not networked. After going cable
(Charter) I can no longer download anything from MS except
at the Windows Update site. Not even a small file or a huge
one (eg. sp1a). Not in IE 6 (updated) or Netscape 7.02. I
click on the link and nothing happens. Do dialog, no
download. I'm obviously not connecting w/ MS. No problem
using dialup on 2 same machines. Charter thinks it has
something to do w/ IP addresses??? Also tried disabling
Norton AV, Norton Internet Security, and default XP
firewall. Odd because I have no trouble connecting to any
websites or downloading from any except MS.
