I am running Windows XP. I connect to the internet with a
telephone dsl. However, I can not find a way to disconnect
without powering down. I understand that there is supposed
to be an icon on the task bar that allows me to do so just
like the Windows 98 has. Is there some way to disconnect
from the telephone company dsl without powering down
altogether? When I power down I lose the dsl connection
and have to reinstall it. Or, at least that has been
happening of late.
I have a second PC at another location that logs on to the
same connection, but won't log on if the PC at the house
is still on line.

This might be a matter to contact your ISP about.
