system restore and firewall errors

I clicked on system properties and got an error message:
rundll32.exe - entry point not found. RemoteSystemRestore-
dynamic link library-WINSTA.dll....pressing "ok" opens
the properties popup, but I have no system restore tab.

I also get an error message when I try to click on the
firewall box in Internet connections.

I installed the patch for the W32.Randex.E worm anyway,
and now I'm not restarting automatically, but why don't I
have the system restore option, and why is the firewall
option failing? Symantics alerted me to the presence of
the virus after all of this, but then gave me a second
alert saying that it had been deleted. Can I still have
virus residue? Should I reinstall Windows XP?

If you still have virus residue a reinstall is v.unlikely to help.
Check symantec site for info as to exactly what the worm does, and the info
for removal, apart from removal tool that is downloadable
