Hi,
I have two computers, one running XP Pro, and the other running XP Home. I
should probably tell the whole story, though.
-First, my computer running Windows 98 dies (was networked to a win. 98
486). So, I go out and buy a 2ghz P4 with XP Home. Networking is fime with
Win 98. 486.
-Second, I need (and buy) VisualStudio.net, which requires XP Pro, so I get
those and install them onto my good PC, and at the same time replace dead
parts of old PC so that it is now Celeron 1.2ghz. I put the XP home copy on
this one.
-NOW, I got this 'delayed write failed' error and I can't figure out how to
fix it.

Sorry, I probably should have been more specific. This is strictly a
*network* issue (the KB article referred to was regarding UDMA in hard
drives). There was another KB related to the SMB signing generating that
error, however that is not the case. Although I am fairly certain that the
hardware is not the problem, I am in the process of re-testing this.
Evan Cottle

PS. I have the two computers hooked up via a crossover cable.

Evan
Read this link to another NG

http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/2459

I'm not sure how helpful it will be but it should make for some
"interesting" reading.
