i cant display the icon on my taskbar anymore. its says
the program was deleted and to go into add/remove programs
to install it.

i heard that you have to use the windows xp cd, but i have
a question


my computer came with xp, do i have the windows xp cd?

Actually, you would be in a better position to know the answer to your
question than us. Your documentation should certainly tell you and you must
have a box with various materials.

Some systems come only with a recovery CD and while it will reinstall XP it
is not an XP CD. Your repair options are quite limited without an actual XP
CD but as I said, only you can answer the question as to what you have.
