Internet connection drops intermittantly

I have a cable modem and I've installed all Microsoft
patches since I got my computer. I have started to lose
my internet connection quite a bit over the last 3-4
weeks. I remember reading something about a specific
Microsoft XP patch/hotfix that gave about 750,000 people
who downloded it this type of problem!!

I can't find my information any more....so can anyone
tell me which hotfix causes this problem so I can remove
it!!
