Hi all,
I have a Windows XP Home machine that has a connectivity issue over TCP/IP.
I can ping addresses and hostnames and they come back fine. DNS is
resolving and I can reach out onto the web on layer 3 from a command prompt.
I can't browse with a web browser, ftp, telnet or any other application. I
have tried both MSIE and Netscape browsers.
This problem manifests itself over both the NIC and modem connections.
I am inclined to believe this is an application layer fault, as layer 3 is
functioning. Is it reasonable to think this could be a winsock error? If
yes, how do I reinstall winsock on XP?
I've tried :
Reinstalling the TCP/IP protocol stack
Running SFC
Running the repair option for XP from CD Rom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
