movie tasks pane on mapped drive

I'm having a problem with the movie tasks item showing up
in the tasks pane on the left hand side of the window
when a mapped drive is opened. There are no movie items
located on the mapped drive. Also, the tab option to
change the view type under 'Preferences' (when right
clicked) for a mapped drive does not appear. This is
causing time delay problems when trying to access a
folder with many subfolders. Is there a way to remove
this association?
