This isn't exactly a networking problem, but, i installed a D-link 604
router and networked My Matrix(windowsXP) with my HP ( windows ME)
using the instructions from previous . The connection is fine, No
Problem there. My only question is : Is there a way to disable the
built in firewall in the router? I've got a software firewall
installed, which seems to be sufficent, but the router firewall is
blocking me connecting and sending files thru AIM-95 , Yahoo and i had
to re-configure WinMx to be able to connect.Where once i was able to
connect with others, using a program called Drop Chuteand Aim-95. Now
the router firewall is stopping the connection Thanks skip

Hi,
Dunno if your router has the same function as mine, I am using a SMC router.
Does your router have an IP address which you can log in to configure the
setup?
If so chances are there will be a function for you to declare that you wish
to disable the firewall service.
Usually its just a browser based config util that comes with the router,
unless yours provide you with a setup app by itself.
Try checking the product website itself. In fact I ran thru it to be sure
that my assumptions are correct.
Seems like you can disable the firewall via the set up.
Yah gotto to do some finger work bro :)
Cheers!
