Safe Mode

I cannot access SAFE MODE. F8 key during boot does not
bring up DOS window with options for Safe Mode, goes to
windows xp boot, only F2 key bringss up BIOS selection.
There is no accessable dropdown list or window from START
list that shows "restart in SAFE MODE", only shows "log
off" or " turn off computer".

Suggestions??

An easy way is to add a dummy entry in the [operating systems] section of your
BOOT.INI file.

If the machine will boot, go to Start, Run and enter MSCONFIG Go to the
BOOT.INI tab and check the /SAFEBOOT option.

Start - Run MSConfig.exe

On the Boot.ini page, check the box /SAFEBOOT and exit to reboot to Safe
Mode. You will need to run it again there to uncheck the box when you
want to reboot to normal
