I am having difficulty burning data on my cd. it says
cd not writable. i have tried CD-RW and regular cd's. I
can save to floppy, but my laptop only has cd port. any
suggestions?

Have you tried a CD-R disk? Are you using the built-in XP CD Burning program
or third party software?

Hi,

Right-click the drive in Windows Explorer, go to the recording tab. Check
the line "enable recording on this drive".
