Hi,

I used the Windows Update service an hour ago. A window
came up titled "Security Warning" wanting me to install
and run "Windows Update" signed on 8/25/2003 8:19 PM and
distributed by Microsoft Corporation.

Anyway I clicked Yes. After the installation was complete
I scanned for updates. As there were no Critical Updates,
I closed IE and closed my connection. After restarting my
computer only the desktop comes up. If I try to start any
program or open the Control Panel Acrobat eBook Reader
starts up. I've had Acrobat eBook Reader for months so I
don't think this is the problem. But I can't get into the
control panel to uninstall it. Nothing will open except
this program.

Any ideas?

BTW I'm obviously on another computer as I write this.

Thanks,

Duane

Restart the computer. When it begins to load Windows press F8. When the
boot menu appears select "Last Good Configuration." If that doesn`t work,
do what I told you, except select "Safe Mode" at the boot menu. When the
computer boots, use System Restore to go back before you installed the
update.

Hope this helps.
