I currently setup a new PC using Win XP Pro as an
internet server through Internet Connection Sharing. The
few PCs that have Win 98 can see the server and can also
be seen and can access the internet. I however have a
problem connecting the one pc with win 2000 pro. I cannot
see the server and the server can also not see it. I'm
also not able to access the net. what could possibly be
wrong? please advise

Configure win 2000 pro as an ICS client using the "automatic" settings
shown here:

ICS for Win2000 - Client Setup
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/ics/ics_win2k_client.htm

Then, reboot and check the TCP/IP configuration by opening a command
prompt window and entering:

ipconfig /all

It should show:

IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1

If those settings are right, enter these lines. Each one should get
four replies:

ping 192.168.0.1
ping 216.239.39.100
ping www.google.com
