Taskbar

Don't know how it happened, but somehow I did something
that made the taskbar go from one line to a double-
decker, and I can't change it back. It is unlocked
(which probably contributed to the occurrence of the
problem), and although I can see the "funky" arrows, they
only make the task bar disappear or appear higher on the
Desktop. I just want to restore the taskbar to its
original single one line. Please help me and in the
simplest of terms as I am not a computer genius. Thank
you!
