MS Word is not part of windows. Never has been. If is part of Office.
If you are asking If you upgrade, You should retain word if you already have
it.
I hope this helps.

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. have *never* been part of Windows.
If you are asking if they're will be any problems if you upgrade, possibly.
You should back up all useful files before any making any major system
changes.

Sorry, let me get this straight (if I can understand your very poor grasp of
the English language) you've bought WINDOWS and you want to install WORD?!
Sorry, I don't follow, what has the former got to do with the latter?! If
you wanted Word you should have bought OFFICE not WINDOWS.

I'm not sure what you're getting at but if you're asking if you choose the
upgrade option to install XP if you'll still have Word then the answer is
you may very well still have it but it's unlikely that it will work. A nice
clean installation of XP is best and a trip to openoffice.org will tide you
over until you have the money or time to buy the new Works Suite.

=46irst - Windows is an operating system; Word is part of the Office
Applications suite that does not come with it but has to be bought and
installed separately. Any version of Word will run with any reasonably
recent version of Windows. So upgrading or installing windows does not
concern itself with Word.

If you have Word installed on an earlier version of windows and from
that run an Upgrade to Windows XP, the Word will still be around. If
you run a 'clean' new install, formatting the disk, it will not
