Look at the reply from a MVP and wonder. Is there any real
help out there? Good luck.

Damn, will have to talk to Kent about getting back into the "humorless
drone" mode.

Taking potshots at MVPs is easy. They say the advice is too simple, it's
too complicated, somebody's got too much attitude, they can be an
asshole or stupid, but I had better not notice or make any comment. And
I usually don't. If I inject something silly, I always include the
answer.
I doubled up on my meds and I'm back to rote mode. I don't even see
anything humorous about names like "Nutcase" or "The Reverend XP".
I'll repeat my advice: "Echo cancellation is a modem or VoIP function.
Not part of Windows per se." But I see Mike took a shot at understanding
the question to refer to "ping". Good job.
I can think of only the one application and that would be interactive
voice using speakers instead of headphones. If you don't tell the voice
application that you are using speakers instead of headphones, it won't
include the feedback suppression or echo cancellation to avoid feedback
through the speakers.
