I have WinXP Home on an IBM NetVista all-in-one computer, with an LCD
screen. Direct3D animations are flickering badly (not the whole screen --
just the animation), and I'm looking for adjustments I can make.
One thing I've noticed is that XP is using the "Default Monitor", and I'm
trying to see if there's a way I can tell it I'm using an LCD. I'm not as
familiar with XP as I am with 98 -- is there a way to remove the Default
Monitor and replace it with something else?
(To expand upon the problem... I can see the flicker when I run the
DirectX diagnostic program, in the Direct3D test. The animated box with X
logo is there, but the image flickers and tears. I'm thinking it might be
a scan rate issue, which is why I'm thinking about the monitor type.)
