copying my dvds

I recently purchased a dell 8250 with a cd rom drive and a
cd/dvd burner drive. I would like to mke backup copies oc
dvd movies I own, but the software I have found
like "Gordenknot" is very complicated. Is there any
real "one click" software out there to burn dvds?

For DVD creation questions, go to these groups:
alt.video.dvd.authoring and alt.video.dvd.software But for detailed
FAQs, guides, and software I reccomend www.dvdrhelp.com I just got my
burner 2 weeks ago and I learned a lot from the guides on that site. I
have only backed up one DVD for my bedroom DVD player, and it was
easy. Next time I am trying a different method, there are many!

Unfortunately, the simple answer is no. There is no easy way to accomplish
such a task, at least, not while using consumer grade equipment. There are
commercial duplication systems available for such use, virtually one button
press and go, but even your American Express may not cover the cost of that
equipment.

Since duplication of commercially produced DVDs is such a touchy subject
these days, irrespective of Fair Use doctrine, I really don't see any major
push to force industry in the direction of low cost consumer class
duplication equipment for DVDs. In fact, the more difficult, the better
industry likes it.

Check www.vcdhelp.com in the DVD to DVD-R forum and www.doom9.net
It's not easy all the time but it's not nearly as complicated as you might
think. It's a bit overwhelming at first but once you get one burnt you're
in.
