The Dazzle box is doing essentially what a DV camera would do. You hook
your camera up to the Dazzle using the cables and the Dazzle box to the
computer using a IEEE 1394 OHCI compliant connection (firewire). The Dazzle
box converts the input from the analog device (camera or VCR or TV, etc.)
into a DV data stream that the firewire can transfer to your computer and
the software on the computer can store. If you are getting an error I would
check all all of the connections and make sure the firewire cable is
connected to a valid firewire port on the computer (if you have XP you will
hear a "ding" to tell you it found the device", and then make sure that your
camera is connected to the Dazzle and powered on in "Play" mode. You
probably won't get any device control this way so you will have to press
play on your camera to start the video feed. If you are connected a TV or
VCR you will go through a similar process.
