Within WinXP:
1) Start>Run and type msconfig then click OK.
2) Select the Boot.ini tab
3) Select "Check all boot paths"
4) An option to delete invalid paths. Select Yes.

Gary,

Just a question here. If they both point to the same installation, wouldn't
they both be "valid"?

It is possible Doug. By doing the MSConfig thing would then fix it or
not fix it. If it doesn't then it would have to be the same reference.
One could be deleted manuall from the boot.ini as you mentioned.

I didn't grin, just bit the bullet and tried it-worked like a charm,
THANX to u both. I did have an invalid entry and it took it out for me.
