New computer & newly installed zonealarm - so it's chatty right
now....
Is it okay for Generic Host Process for Win32 to accept connections
from the Internet or should I tell it "No & Remember"?
TIA

Greetings --
No, you don't want it accepting incoming connections.

Always use a safe, logical strategy when you encounter an unknown connection
attempt. The Generic Host Process for Win32 can be legitimate, depending on
how your system is configured or it could be a nasty trying to probe your
system. In the light of recent events, I would recommend denying access but
not selecting the "remember" option. Continue working normally and if you do
not encounter any problems then you can permanently disable that connection.
Some of the services that use this module are the System Time
synchronization and Automatic Windows Updates.

Just a FYI:
When I denied GHP for Win32 using ZoneAlarm, I was unable to connect to the
FTP server using WS_FTP pro s/w. Soon after I enabled the GHP for Win32, I
could connect.

Hi Ramesh
Same here using a different FTP client. I usually confirm this connection on
a per use basis instead of letting ZA make it automatic. I have a couple of
other programs that also use the GHP for legitimate connections.
