This is a fairly recent problem. I have Windows XP pro,
and the problem is that when I have multiple Windows
open, the open programs don't show up on the taskbar.
Everything else is running great, but this one little
problem is really starting to annoy me. And for those of
you who say I have to do a System restore, don't bother,
I've already tried.

You might not have enough space on your task bar [ the quick
launch has been dragged too big ] and they are being stacked
below the task bar you see.

Drag your task bar to double the size when you have the windows
open and see if they are there.

See www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm, Line 240, Left Column, Programs
Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar for a small utility that will correct this
issue.
