View Full Version : CheckDisk at Boot

Running XP Home on Toshiba laptop. Recently boot started going thru computer splash screen, windows loading
screen (almost long enough to come up), then says it has found an abnormality and will run chkdsk, which I
could avoid but better not! 3 stage chkdsk runs, doesn't find anything, then starts boot over. Second time thru
computer boots normally.
? How do I have the OK setting reset so that the computer boots without going thru chkdsk?

Went to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and found registry fix but neither key "SFCScan" nor
"AutoChkTimeOut" could be found.

Anyone have an update?

TIA

George

Boot the machine into recovery console and run a chkdsk with a /f
parameter. This should fix whatever is causing the problem.
