Stand by Mode

After runnung the recovery disk for my windows XP Home, I
am no longer given the option of Stand By Mode on the
shutdown screen. I've went into power options but there
is nothing listed for stand by on the choice list. I
loaded all the recomended windows updates and service
packs but It did not replace the missing file(s). Any
suggestions are welcome!I would rather not have to run
another recovery.
