Canon Camcorder Problem

I bought a Camcorder from Canon and it came with DV
Messenger software. The instructions ask if I have
WQindows Messenger 4.5 and if I do does it operate and
can its videoconferenceing function be used with a
digital video camcorder. I haven't a clue! I downloaded
Messenger 4.7 API.

Canon is extremely proficient at providing user instructions for their
cameras. First, please read the quick start guide that comes with your
camera, and follow the instructions to the letter. Next, read the first
few pages of the user manual about installation which will provide
additional information and tips. Next, read the first few pages of the
software guide, if any. There will be information about what the
software does and what is required to run it. If those steps fail, try
www.canon.com and find your camera under Product Support. Canon has
information for troubleshooting, driver updates, firmware updates, etc,
that might be useful.
