Running a DOS program on XP

I copied a couple of a (DOS) programs from
a W98 machine, PIF included.
One ran the 2nd did not.
I realized that the 2nd needs more memory (4MB)
From XP help I realized I need to change
the Config,nt and the Autoexec.nt
(And modify the PIF to use the new ones)
1. Am I correct?
2. I'm not sure how should I change them

Any advise?

I too have a problem with dos on XP copied from a win98 machine.
It is MYM, and can't get full screen-not matter what I try.
