View Full Version : IE Does Not Appear
jw

I cannot find IE. I downloaded and installed it as well
as SP1. If I try to download again, I receive the
message that it already exists. I search for
iexplore.exe and it's not found. It is not in the
Programs folder. However, if I click on Windows UPdates,
it launches. I want to put an ICON on the desktop for IE.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Click start, control panel, appearance and themes, display, under the
desktop tab
click customize, under the general tab click internet explorer if it's not
checked.

I tried that. The program does not exist there. I
searched the entire drive for it, and it is not found.
But, as I stated, if I try to reinstall it, I get the
message that it already exists.
Hmmm. Very strange.
Thanks anyhow,

When using search, have you designated advanced options to show hidden
folders and subfolders? IEXPLORE.EXE may have somehow moved or changed
its attribution.
From what I've read, it takes a lot of work to actually get rid of IE.

I tried that, too.
Thanks anyhow,

Try right clicking your desktop, chose properties, chose desktop tab, and
check the inetexplorer. This should place the icon on your desktop.
I hope this helps. If not try here:

Sorry it took so long to get back to all of you. My
customer was out of town, so, I couldn't get to their
computer. 3 of you gave me the same answer as below, and
it is correct. Sometimes I feel sooooo stupid. Thanks
to all of you for you help.
