Make sure you don't delete the wrong one!

Youll need to install xp cd,exit the info page, restart computer, boot to xp cd,
recovery, press enter for password,at cmd screen type:DiskPart In DiskPart
the installed copies of xp are shown with thier partitions, delete the unwanted partition,
then esc,back in cmd screen type:CHKDSK C: /R C: being the installed xp partition.When
thru type:EXIT Let xp restart. If the good partition is other than C:,you might select
install xp (1st info page) then select repair current installation, then reboot to recovery,
DiskPart, delete D: or E: whatever the newest xp installation is,xp should be on C:

Hi
See if the following helps:
"I have two installations of XP on the same partition, how do I remove the
one I don't need?"

| Xp wouldn't start up as a file was missing and I was urged to use repair
installation but I have installed Xp twice now. Thankfully not lost any of
my files but I now have windows and windows.o and all the programs aren't
appearing in control panel. Is it possible to move my files and programs
across to the new (working) version and uninstall the old ? I've had to
reinstall AOL to get online as it wouldn't start but was this necessary as
it was still installed ?
| Sry don't really know much about computers, hope I haven't confused you.
