Question about multiple desktop screens and monitors

I have a Dell Latitude C610 plugged into a port replicator with a 21"
monitor, kbd, mouse, etc. here at work. Would it be possible for me to
open my laptop and use the screen as an additional desktop screen, similar
to how you use additional monitors in this way? If so, I will want to
upgrade to XP right away.

Ha! Dell's web page has a driver update that gives me an extra wide screen
between my laptop display and monitor - excellent stuff! I guess I
answered my own question :)
