Under Dual Boot w/XP on c:
98 SE on E:
When starting 98 I get problem with
'Hard Disk IDE Master Controller
! in yellow on primary & secondary channels
CD Rom is not recognized.
ios.log has the following:
unknown INT 13 hooker MBRINT13
then forces compatibility mode for three drives
I looked for virus in MBR, none present
I updated BIOS and Intel 82371 IDE Controller
Article 151911 suggested a fix, tried that
suspect problem is because of dual boot
a techie suggested fdisk mbr.
I chickened out fearing it would destroy dual boot
capability and boot for XP
Any other suggestions?

Boot Win98 to Safe Mode and open the Device Manager. Remove the IDE
controller, reboot and let 98 reinstall it. Other than that, more
information about any error information that device manager shows for the
IDE controller would be helpful.
