View Full Version : DV into PC

I have an Athlon 2600+ with 1 gb of RAM and an 80gb hard
drive and a 400 gb hard drive (2x200 RAID striped), an ATI
Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card and a PCI firewire card. I
have DirectX 9.0a.

I just bought a Sony DCR-TRV350 camcorder. I have used
other digital camcorders with this PC and other PC's. I
cannot get the thing to work. When I hook up the camera
and turn it on, the PC makes the little ding sound like it
normally does for firewire or USB devices. The camera
shows in Device Manager under Imaging Devices as a Sony DV
Camcorder. However, none of my video software recognizes
that I have a capture device including Windows Movie
Maker, Pinnacle Edition, Roxio Videowave, NeroVision
Express, etc.

I cannot get any of my DV into the PC. Windows XP
recognizes it but somewhere it is getting "lost" because
not a single piece of software recognizes it.

What to do?

Thanks

Paul
