When I try to scan a document into Paperport 9 Pro I get
an error message: "Unable to communicate with the Twain
device"
Can you help me scan documents?

You need to download and properly install the driver for your scanner. You
will find that its entry has a yellow ! against it. Download the driver and
unzip to a file. Remove the entry in device manager and let Windows redetect
the scanner. When the dialogue box appears, choose to "search for driver
manually, and locate the folder you unzipped the driver to, and point it to
it and click the continue the installation.
