I would consider upgrading but I understand XP does not
support any DOS including GWBasic software. I have written
several programs and would like to know if XP can be
configured to run GWBasic software.

Thanks

See if this helps:
"Troubleshooting MS-DOS-Based Programs in Windows"
"How to Determine If Hardware or Software Is Compatible with Windows
XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=295322)

It is *not* correct that "XP does not support any DOS." Although
XP has only a DOS emulator, not true DOS, that emulator runs most
DOS programs just fine. I'm not sure whether it runs GWBasic or
not, but my guess is that it does. Why not just try it and find
out yourself.
