Try right clicking the file or folder that you want to zip and select "Send
To".
Hope this helps,

Hi Steve,
Note that compressing a folder is similar to 'zipping' a file in that
compression is being used, but zipping a file or folder, traditionally with
WinZip or another such utility creates a copy of the files/folders you
select and compresses them and stores them in a single file for distribution
or backup.
If you simply want to compress a folder on an NTFS drive, simply right-click
that folder and choose [Properties]. Click the [Advanced] button where it
says Attributes. Check the box labeled [Compress contents to save disk
space]. Click [OK]. Click [Apply] and if there are files in the folder you
will see them being compressed. Any new files created in that folder will
automatically be compressed.
