In WMP 9, if you go to "File, Open" you
get a window which gives you options for where to find
files. at the bottom of the window is a drop-down menu
titled "file name". Clicking on the arrow drops down a
list of files that you have open so far, since I've
deleted them most of them.
Is there a way I can clear this list? If so, how?

Hi Mike
To clear the files shown in the open dialog you must clear your recent
documents list. To do this right click on the windows taskbar and select
properties. Now click the start menu tab and then the customise button. If
your using the classic start menu click the clear button when the 'customise
classic start menu' window appears. If your using the new XP interface, when
the customise start menu window opens click the advanced tab and then the
'clear list' button under recent documents.
If you wish to remove the last ten files shown on the WMP file menu open
Media Player 9 then go to Tools > Options, and then the privacy tab at the
bottom click the button to 'clear history'. You can also stop WMP storing a
list of the files you play by unchecking the save file and url history box.
Hope that helps
