I understand that the backup utility is NOT automatically
installed with the software, and must be manually
installed from the disk.
Instructions say to insert the XP Home disk and look for
VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP
These files do not exist on my disk. How do you get hold
of the backup utility?

Look in the XP Home cd, that's where you will find them.

Download NTBackup from here:
http://www.onecomputerguy.com/software/ntbackup.msi
