The Quick Launch bar in Win98 could be sized to dislay
all of the icons placed there. In XP, only 3 icons are
displyed. How can I increase the area of the Quick launch
bar so that more icons (I put 5 there) are displayed? I
know if I click the chevron, the other icons are
displayed. Any help would be appreeciated.

right click on the taskbar and uncheck "Lock Taskbar" now it's just like
Win98.

You can drag the bar separating it from the rest of the taskbar
to resize it (just as in Windows 98). If that doesn't work, the
taskbar is probably locked. Right-click a blank spot on it, and
uncheck "Lock the Taskbar."

By the way, also note that although the Quick Launch bar sits on
the taskbar by default, it doesn't have to be there. You can also
drag it off the taskbar entirely and put it on any other side of
the screen you prefer. My choice is usally to keep the taskbar on
the bottom of the screen and the Quick Launch bar on the left
edge.

This may seem like a dumb question, but how do you move just the Quick
Launch bar to the left edge? I've tried to drag it locked and unlocked.

Thanks,
Debbie

Hi Mike,
I am using a shareware program called "True Launch Bar" Very good product
for the money.
http://www.truelaunchbar.com
Instead of single program icons along the bar this allows you to have
several menus.

For instance I have "Utilities", "Games", "Word Processing", "Internet",
"Downloads" with several programs on each menu.

Just a thought.

Make sure it's unlocked, then click on a blank part of it, and
drag it.

All windows have to be minimized in order to move it.
