Outlook express help

[Dragon]

could some one tell me why the combine and decode bar is greyed out when I
try to combine files in OE, do I need to change my settings or something

When you do this have you already selected a series of headers in OE to
combine and decode? You must select the headers to activate that command.

thank you for your help but i am not sure how i select the headers as i am
new to newsgroups any advise

You select them by placing the cursor over them and clicking them. If you
wish to do a whole series, if they are uninterrrupted by other posts, you
can click the first one, depress the shift key and select the last one and
all the posts in the series will then be selected. Or, if they are
interupped by other posts, you can click each post you want combined and
decoded one by one will depressing the ctrl key on your keyboard. Once
you've selected all the posts to be combined and decoded and understand,
these must be multi-part, in other words, for example, you'll see the posts
listed a 1 of 3, 2 of 3, etc., then select Combine and Decode from the
Message menu on the toolbar.
