View Full Version : Video File being used by another program, can't delete

I have a video file that I'm trying to delete. It is
saved in two places on my computer. Everytime I try to
delete it, from either location, I get an error msg that
reads: "Cannot delete Video0001.AVI. It is being used by
another person or program. Close any programs that might
be using the file and try again."
When I try to delete it, it is not being used by any
programs as far as I know and I have no other programs
running during the attempted deletion.
Additionally, each time after an attempted deletion,
my CPU usage jumps up from a few percent to 100%, stays
there, and my computer comes to almost a standstill. I
usually just have to restart the computer by pressing the
power button. Under Widows Task Manager and Processes I
see that it is explorer.exe that jumps up to CPU 98, and
MEM Usage up to about 70,000K.
Does anyone have any advice as to how I can find out
what program is using he video file and how I can delete
it. Thank you very much.
