User cannot log off

A new computer had Windows XP on it and after installing
a Canon all-in-one printer, the users cannot log off
Windows. To shut the computer down, you have to manually
turn it off. Switching users works. Any ideas???

Suggestion:

This edit automatically ends tasks and timeouts that prevent programs from
shutting down and clears the Paging File on Exit.
